    George Fakinos is one of the most active DJ's and club promoters in the
    Greek alternative clubbing scene.

    Since the early 90s, he's DJ'd in various clubs in Athens either for
    residencies (Next, Metalleio, Horostasio (19995-2002), Odd, Memphis,
    Underworld (2005-2008) and since October 2008 he has a Saturday
    residency in Second Skin where he spins cutting edge Industrial/Hard
    Dance/Aggrotech/EBM/Electro and Noise. He's responsible for booking
    musicians like Brian Molko (Placebo), Peter Hook (Joy Division, New
    Order, Monaco, Revenge), Kevin Matthews (Puressence), Mani (Primal
    Scream, Stone Roses), Neil Taylor (Mesh), Andy Rourke (Smiths), Barry
    7 (Add N To X), Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Danny/Vincent Cavanagh
    (Anathema), John Douglas (Anathema) and many more for djing. He also
    books burlesque & fetish performers too, like Miss Lily White,
    Lucifire, Tutti Frutti , Paloma Faith, Esme, Kumi Monster, Amrita,
    Psycho Cyborgs, The Tusk, Vivid Angel, Maleficent Martini, Crazy White
    Sean, Valeria Dragova, Satomi, Lukas Zpira, Mad Kate, Roxy Velvet,
    Clea Cutthroat,Allen Falkner,Sophia Landi,Ribesone SFL Crew. He also
    co-organises Torture Garden in Athens every year, hosts Spookshow
    events every month and co organises Greek Fetish Ball.

    Some of the bands that he has booked for gigs are The
    Mission,Combichrist,Diorama, The Organ, Unter Null, Calla, Xotox,
    Noisuf-X, Star Industry,X-RX, For Against, SAM, Nachtmahr, IAMX,
    Expatriate, Detachments.

    He used to do radio shows too in the past and used to write for
    various music magazines and fanzines in Greece, England and Germany.
    George has also DJ'd regular times in England, Slovenia, Russia,
    Austria, Spain and USA. He has also released a compilation called
    "Friendly Fire" on EMI and you can find two selections of his
    industrial/electro DJ set on famous compilation Aderlass which
    released all over the world.



    ZYNTHEXIA [Redemption Club, Lumous Gothic Festival, 80's Party]


    Zynthexia is internationally the most well-known Finnish EBM/dark
    electro DJ. She has been DJ'n since 2005 and already in 11 different
    countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland,
    Latvia, Russia, Slovakia, Spain and United Kingdom. Zynthexia is the
    resident DJ and club promoter of Lumous Gothic Festival (the biggest
    gothic event in Finland), Redemption Club and 80's Party of Tampere.
    She has reached numerous guest DJ spots in Finland: Force, Schatten,
    Synapsi, LWS/Wastefield, Fetish Factory, Graveyard Party etc.

    Zynthexia is also an active concert organizer. Some of the bands that she
    has booked are Rosewater (LV), Doppelganger (RUS), Trümmerfrau (GER),
    Pro-jekt (UK) and co-organized together with the rest of the Lumous-crew
    bands like Leaether Strip, Project Pitchfork, Das Ich, Inkubus Sukkubus, XP8,
    Star Industry, Psyche, Suicidal Romance, Deviant UK, Patenbrigade:Wolff,
    Vendemmian, Deutsch Nepal, Nosferatu and loads of other Finnish and
    international bands.

    Besides DJ'n she is also playing keyboards for legendary Finnish
    gothic rock band Two Witches and electronic drums/live keyboards for
    SinMasters. SM combines danceable EBM/industrial music with fetish
    themes. Zynthexia is involved to other music projects as well and is
    having a new duo project with the singer of Two Witches, touring under
    the name Jyrki Witch & Zynthexia.



    MEKE [Battle Royale, Force]


    True hard dance music specialist and probably the most known harder
    edge DJ in Tampere. Long term resident of Force events and ambassador
    of makina hardtrance sound in Northern Europe. The man behind the
    popular Battle Royale brand, versatile spinner with unique selection skills
    and life-long experience of classic old skool rave. Regular appearances
    all around Finland at all major hard dance events and recent headline
    slots abroad in Poland. Meke is one of the key figures responsible for
    bringing the Battle Royale nights to their present level, so expect pure
    hard euphoria in his set, as always!

    George on sen verran kuumissaan Suomeen tulemisesta, että antoi meidän tehdä pienen haastattelun itsestään:

    - Current residencies, where people can catch you performing?

    George F.: In Greece, I have a Saturday residency at Second Skin Club where I spin Industrial,Aggrotech, Hard Dance, Electro,EBM etc and until recently I also had a Sunday residency at another club playing New Wave, Dark Wave, Indie etc which I am moving this Sunday residency to a new club from September. Of course, at Tampere I will play what I usually spin at Second Skin Club. Apart from some guest djings in the rest of Greece, there is a guest djing in Los Angeles at Das Bunker on December 2.

    - How would you describe the music style you are spinning?

    George F.: Cutting- edge Industrial, Aggrotech, Techno Body Music, Hard Dance for the body and soul.

    - What DJ's / producers out there right now are inspiring you?

    George F.: I don't know how it sounds to you, but I never get influenced or inspired by other djs. I am so lost in my own little world searching for new music to play and present to people. Of course I have high respect for a lot of djs (especially to the ones that make me dance when I go out as a clubber). I work as a dj for 18 years non-stop and all these years I've been trying to have my own style either on the way I spin or "communicating" with people through the music I choose to spin.

    - What do you think that makes a DJ 'great'?!

    George F.: On top of my list on what makes a DJ "great" is playing music for the people to have fun and not playing music for yourself. I have experienced djs playing music like they are in their living room and it's so fucking boring and above all, it is an insult to the people who pay to listen to you. It's like you don't care about your audience! It is definitely a talent to get in people's mood, make them dance and always be one step (or in this case, one song) ahead of the audience, so you will keep making them dance and have a good time, without clearing the dancefloor with a wrong selection. Combining music that people like with the music the dj likes is of course the ideal and most of the times this is what happens on my dj sets.
    Other stuff that makes a dj " great" is not relying on download only. Look and dig for new, fresh, interesting music and dare to play to your audience what you have just discovered. Be brave; don't rely only on past glories (I mean old school classics etc). Watch as many gigs as you can, buy cds, travel as much as you can and the most important: Keep doing clubbing, because a dj who forgets how it is to be a clubber ends up an average dj sooner or later.

    - The highlights of your career?

    George F.: Djing in America was something special for me, especially in LA at Das Bunker where the audience was one of the best and most energetic. Djing in London for Torture Garden Birthday Ball for three consecutive years was amazing too. Sharing decks with Peter Hook and Brian Molko (not on the same night) on some events that I had booked. Djing on a beach in Athens (I know it's not very gothic) back in the early 90s where all I could see from the decks was people as far as the eye could see. And all these unforgettable Saturday nights, all these years, in all these clubs that I have djed until today that I might not recall the date, but I remember the smiles and shine on people's faces at the end of the night. And this is the best reward for me. I will do my best to share a night like this with you on the 23rd of July in Tampere...

    - Greetings to Finnish audience?

    George F.: Well, Finnish people are the beautiful people, no doubt about it! I haven't djed in Finland before, so this fact alone makes my guest djing in Tampere for Redemption Club VS Battle Royale something to really looking forward!
